Shōryūji Castle; Sakura Hotspots in Kyoto. da KyotoDreamTrips
Yesterday was such a nice day here in Kyoto and with rain coming for the week-end, I ventured out to shoot some sakura. This is the Shōryūji Castle (勝龍寺城) in Nagaokakyō ward of Kyoto. This castle was constructed in 1339 by Hosokawa Yoriharu (細川頼春), a major samurai commander under Ashikaga Takauji (足利 尊氏), the founder of the Ashikaga shogunate. A little out of the way but if you want to enjoy a quiet spot to enjoy cherry blossoms, this is the place to go.
