Originally founded in the 12th century, its present outlook mainly comes from 1848, after a renovation next to a fire. Hungarian language services are also available in the church; the root of the world "barát" is "friend" in Hungarian.
However, the neighbouring modern building completely supresses the church from different views (especially looking at it from towards National Theatre).
