Sacred Heart Cathedral is made of solid masonry, including all the walls, pillars and the twin towers. That’s why the locals call it “Stone House”.

Nice chill, open area in front of the cathedral where has cafe and light bite restaurants, some B&B as well. If you have enough time not a bad walk up to shopping area nearby.

聖心大教堂（Secred Heart Cathedral ）是天主教在广州教区最大的教堂，也是目前国内最大的哥特式建筑和全球四座全花岗岩结构的哥特式教堂建筑之一。历史上曾是清末两广总督府，位于广州市一德路，法国租此地兴建教堂，1863年奠基，1878年落成。因奠基日是天主教圣心瞻礼节，故称圣心堂。又因为全部使用花岗岩石砌筑，也称石室教堂。由法国工程师设计及施工，广东揭西工匠蔡孝负责工程具体施工。

广州石室教堂位于广州市一德路，旧址是清朝两广总督署，1895年被英法联军焚毁。法国租此地兴建教堂，1863年奠基，1878年落成。因奠基日是天主教圣心瞻礼节，故称圣心堂。又因为全部使用花岗岩石砌筑，也称石室教堂。该教堂采用哥特式建筑风格，由法国工程师设计及施工，广东揭西工匠蔡孝负责工程具体施工,为中国现存的最大的石构哥特式建筑。
